Oh, how we love the Defender!

Well, we had such a fab time trekking around the Stang Forest this weekend in the Defender, that we thought we'd share a few pics with you as the sunlight dwindled over the Yorkshire Dales on the longest day of the year - the Summer Solstice.

We are also very sad to hear that this great British icon is nearing the end of its production life after 67 years this December. I bet quite a few of you have many happy memories exploring the wilds of beyond in these machines over the years, so why not tell us about them in the comments below as we'd love to hear your tales! :-)

Land Rover have also made their 2,000,000th Defender this week and it will be auctioned off at Bonhams in aid of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Born Free Foundation. We're sure the lucky owner will have a very special car to treasure... view the Defender 2m special video here.

Lets see what the next chapter of Defender brings us in a couple of years time...
